The Civil War has fascinated history buffs and historians for nearly a century. This story captures the agony faced by many families during this sad period of American history. The Creightons, living in southern Illinois, have three sons. When war breaks out, one of their sons leaves home to fight for the Confederacy. The other son joins the Union forces. The youngest son Jethro stays at home with his mother and father. The story depicts the war through the eyes, ears, and experiences of this family.
